January 2005:- A Nathusius pipistrelle was collected by a Westmorland and Furness Bat group volunteer. The bat was found in an office at a quarry on the Cumbria/ Lancashire border.
This is the first recorded incidence of a Nathusius pipistrelle in the area.
The bat which was under weight and dehydrated was rehabilitated and successfully released in the middle of March near to where it was found.
